HSE represents an integral part of the core business of E.T.L. Moçambique LDA. For this reason the elements designed to manage them are essential during the development of business activities, with consideration also given to the pressure and the increasingly stringent requirements imposed by national and international legislation, as well as by Clients and Public/ Government Authorities.
E.T.L. Moçambique LDA achieves such an objective by means of the implementation of his HSE Management System in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety) which is based on the following strategic guidelines highlighted in the HSE Policy:
- Provide and maintain a safe, healthy working environment in compliance with all local regulations and laws, together with all appropriate international standards and regulations.
- Ensure that all plants, equipment, tools and materials are properly used, maintained or handled to avoid risks to any person and/or to the environment.
- Ensure that all personnel is acknowledged on operational and HSE standards, practices, objectives and procedures.
- Ensure that all personnel is properly trained in the attitudes, skills and knowledge required to achieve stated objectives.
- Ensure that all personnel is aware of their own responsibilities toward themselves, the others and the environment. To encourage them to adopt safe, healthy working practices at all times during the course of their activities. Similar responsibilities must be undertaken by subcontractors that will be selected and checked for their HSE performance.
- Ensure circulation of information concerning near miss, accidents and injuries to improve commitment to health, safety and environment protection. Encourage personnel active participation, at all levels, to improve awareness on health, safety and environment protection.
- Implement regular audits, inspection and surveys to ensure the compliance with HSE standards.
